I'm selling some guitars for the estate of a friend who passed away last fall and thought someone here might be interested in this mint limited edition guitar. I think they made this model for just a few years. This one is nearly new and plays and sounds great. If interested send me an email and I can send photos and more details. I've also got a Rainsong acoustic for sale from the same collection.
Asking $2300 shipped and insured.

It was pointed out to me by another group member that this same martin guitar can be had for $800.
I'm sure this is a different budget model of this guitar as this model was discontinued

This guitar was built in 2009 and was bought new in 2011. I have the receipt and my friend payed around $2800 for it from Cripple Creek Music here in Ashland OR. It is in mint condition.

you can check out the 2nd review here and you'll see that it listed for $3,799
http://www.vintageguitar.com/3507/martins-d-18-omc-1/

and here is the Martin 2009 brochure where it lists for $3899.
http://www.acousticmusic.org/userfiles/file/pdfs/historical-data/Martin/Martin%202009%20Price%20List.pdfEd

I'm certainly not trying to scam anyone. I'm helping a friends wife sell some guitars from his estate as he passed away suddenly last fall. Just putting it out there in case someone has been looking for this model as it's been discontinued. If I could by this guitar for $800 I wouldn't be selling it, I'd be buying it as it's a killer instrument.

If anyone is interested. I'm also selling a hand crafted Northern Flyer archtop built by Wyatt Wilke, a Rainsong, and a Benedetto Bambino.
If you have any questions or would like to see some photos let me know.

Not the same guitar, and your friend got ripped off if he paid that much.

My first reply seems to have got lost in cyberspace. Briefly, the guitar
you are describing is a Series 1 OMC-1 - eg "sapele backs and sides".
The one in the Vintage Guitar article is an entirely different and much
more expensive beast, the OMC-1 Fingerstyle - eg "Spanish cedar back and
sides"

I'll think the best, and assume that you lifted the description for the
wrong guitar.

IMO, Martin weren't very smart giving them similar names - I'm sure it
will lead to much confusion in the future.

Well, this will be the last time I post about this instrument here, but yes, this IS the same guitar that was reviewed in the Vintage Guitar Magazine article and it does feature the Spanish Cedar back, Spruce top, etc. I have the receipt in front of me and the list price was $3899 and it was sold for $2650 from Cripple Creek Music in Ashland OR in 2012. Cripple Creek Music is THE top guitar shop in southern Oregon and very reputable and would not sell an $800 version for $2650. My friend did not get ripped off and I was just offering a great, mint condition guitar for a fair price. That's the last you'll hear about it here.
