For those who don't know about Texas A and M University, it is one of the
two most popular schools here in Texas. The other being the University of
Texas. Both schools excel in their areas of education. Texas students are
known as Longhorns and A&M students are known as Aggies.

Now, Each of these schools likes to brag about being the best school in the
state. Texas turns out Doctors and Lawyers and other high dollor grads. A&M
turns out Vets and Ag grads. That's very much a simplification, but just
about sums it up. Texas is for city folk and A&M is for country folk.

As a part of this rivalry, there are many many jokes. One of my favorites
goes like this...

Did you hear about the Tornado that touched down at A&M? It did over
$100,000 in improvements.

Anyway, the students at A&M have, after 4 years of intensive engineering,
produced a new digital clock. It is really something to behold. I enclose
the link here so that everyone might enjoy it.

NCAA required the Aggies to install Astroturf so the cheerleaders
wouldn't graze their way onto the field.

Heard at a Tx RMMGA gathering:

Aggie: in the bar sitting having a brew. In walks a stunning lady dressed in very nice threads. She looks around and sits down next to him and orders a drink and they begin to chat. She notices that he has an Aggie jacket on, an Aggie ball cap, an Aggie ring so she asks about them.

"Oh them, those are my Aggie things from where I went to school. Texas A&M ya know. You look and sound like a well educated lady, where did you go to school?"

"Yale." She responds.

"Well, OK.", he replies. "WHERE'D YA GO TO SCHOOL!!!?"

Two Aggies, out hunting, came up a naked woman in the woods. She said,
"Hi boys. What are you up to?"

The Aggies said, "We're out hunting game."

She said, "Well, I'm game."

So they shot her.

I couldn't open it but I knew you just wanted to hear everyone's favor
tie Aggie jokes.

They go a long way back. In 1954, I arrived for school in Chicago and
there was a series of "Polock" jokes going around. So to fit in, I
started telling every Aggie joke I could think of, except this time
the butt of the joke was not an Aggie but a "Polock." My peer
approval made me feel right at home, even if I was not too sure what a
"Polock" was.

We had a soil scientist PhD. working with us in NASA and he was an
Aggie. He was also a through-and-through Texan; the only person in
the entire organization who dipped snuff and wore western cut clothes
with boots.

We were telling Aggie jokes in a business meeting lull and we had
forgotten he was an Aggie. We were laughing..."Did you hear about the
Aggie at the Indy 500? He had the fastest car but he was last. He
made twenty-three pit stops. He kept asking for directions."

Finally, the guy said, "I have an Aggie joke. What is black and blue
and hurts all over?"

We didn't know.

He said, "The next son-of-a-bitch who tells an Aggie joke."

No one thought that funny at all...but we got back to the business of
the meeting.

I first heard this one from a Dukie, and NC State was the butt of the
joke; but it would certainly work with Texas A&M (or Clemson :-)):

Q: Know why they had to cancel sex ed classes at State?

A: They needed the mule for Driver's Ed.

So the two Aggies are hunting and one accidentally shoots the other. In
a panic, he calls 911: "I shot my buddy! I think he might be dead!"

The 911 operator says, "Calm down, sir, calm down. I'll talk you
through it. First thing, is, make sure he's dead and not just wounded,"
she says.

The phone goes silent. The operator hears a gunshot, and then the Aggie
comes back on: "Okay, he's dead. Now what?"
