We played at Blues Alley in DC last night. I carry a regular red eye for my guitar and also a dee-eye in case the venue doesn't have a countryman or similar for the bass player. Most venues now have radials and unless they have the specialized one for piezos (I haven't met a venue yet who does) the regular radials suck for the bass pickup.

So we had a great gig, and during the signing an audience member comes up and tells me specifically how much he loves those red eyes and how it was nice to see someone using them. He said he uses a twin and a fiddle player he works with uses the regular red eye like mine. I got a real kick out of that, because I was happy to meet someone who was also hip to the things!

Thanks for the review. I don't post here much any more, but I still
value to opinions of the folks I know, at least via usenet.

I'm pleased you had a good gig.
