Discussion:
Noticed a nasty twangy sound coming from the b string
(too old to reply)

Wondering what the cause might be.
Happens unfretted and a bit less when
fretted.

Any advice is welcome.

Since I got this used I "know" what the guy
at the pawn shop told me, which was that it was
previously owned by a former employee who
switched it from a left handed to a right,
as evidenced by the shadow of the pick guard
on the top of the sound hole.

No complaints about the sound other
than that b string, but as an old fart with
small arthritic hands I might like to see
about lowering the action if possible.

I know all of the above means I should have it
looked at by a Luthier, which I will most likely do.
Just trying to get as much info from more knowledgeable
folks.

Nut needs adjusting, maybe a bit of bone dust and ca glue to raise then file back down for that string,
Could have a fret lifting, check that with a fret rocker, or ,,,,
Your bridge could be off on that string
Good luck

You've removed the bridge pin & inspected it and the area
of the bridge where it inserts ? Loose tuner ?
.. simple things first. Good luck.

Thanks for the advice.
I found a Luthier in my neighborhood, he works out of his house
3 blocks from mine. He's going to do a proper setup and says he can lower
the action. Very convenient location and a nice guy as well.
