No, they're not. The reserve's already been met, and there's still five days
to go on the auction.

This guitar's going to sell for a LOT of money. I wouldn't be surprised to see
it hit $50,000, easily.

Of course, this will encourage other folks to put THEIR Dimebag-autographed
guitars on eBay, and that should water things down considerably. But this
first guy should make a substantial amount of money.

It's not every week you have a famous electric guitarplayer assassinated
onstage, I guess...

Its sad, though. I was never much of a Pantera listener in HS-more of a
classical person . But I still have to wonder about the world when
stuff like this happens. Yeah, politicians come and go-but when it gets
to soccer moms, junior high students, and 2nd wind rock stars ( not
detracting from his work-just a statement) -thats just sick.

I'm not sure that's a real bid. If you check the "Music Memorabilia"
section on Ebay, there are a LOT of signed Dimebag guitars out there. It
was a whole series from Washburn, not a single collector's item. The price
for those guitars (and signed guitars from other celebrities) seems to
float around $1,500 - $2,000 USD.

You may be right. Someone has warned the seller that the high bid is from a
phony bidder. Look under Buyer Questions. Personally, I wouldn't pay that
much for the guitar, but the seller has a right to sell it for whatever
amount he wants to without somebody wrecking his auction.

You bloke make me feel ignorant sometimes.

But then I realize that I'm bloody brilliant.

Rose among the thorns and all that.

Thanks Tom.

Now I know why I'd never heard of him.

I doubt that I'll ever hear him.

Led Zep are as close as I get to heavy metal.
