Gibson Dove Artist

Has anyone played or owned a Gibson Dove Artist cutaway? These seem to
be a spectacular guitar, but are they that much better than a
Songwriter Deluxe cutaway? How does the maple take to being picked and
strummed?

I've never played the maple version of this guitar, only the rosewood
and bubinga versions. Both of those impressed me; I like them.

I expect that the maple "Artist" versions of this guitar won't
necessarily be "better" as simply "different than" the "Deluxe" in
rosewood. I would expect a brighter acoustic tone, one that cuts
through quite well when played plugged-in, which, as far as I can see,
is partially what that guitar is designed for.

I see those two guitars as basically two alternatives available on the
same menu -- which one would YOU like better, will be the question to
answer.
